Supporting Local Businesses

Have you ever thought about who actually owns the company that you are doing business with and if the profits are kept (and spent) in your community? A a Lifestylist® we travel so much and shop all over the country so we can't always buy local, but we make a point fo doing it when we can. I drive my customers crazy when they ask me where I want to go for lunch and I say to their favorite local spot - pressure! But after they know that's what I'll enjoy they have helped me discover some amazing finds that would have never been on my radar. Who would have thought that my favorite place to dine in Orange County would be in a mall?

Yesterday we did our usual stops at our farmers markets. we've started going to one that is further away but the people are always so darn nice, and we've made some great finds there. White Rock Local Market continues to impress us, and has us coming back.

My favorite this week is the Chandler Family Farm. They are in Mabank, Texas and their tomatoes were beautiful and tasty as well! After going back home and checking our their Facebook page I learned that it's a farm that is owned by Jennifer Chandler - a second generation farmer and almost every other comment on her page is about how nice she is. That's someone I want to support and do business with.

Looking forward to learning more about Jennifer and enjoying more of her produce in the days to come.
